From the Peak of Kailasa Mountain Uma Maheswara travelled to Agastya Mountain in the North passing through dense forests, hills and streams they reached the ancient city of Kollam. After seeing the beautiful gardens palace and Royal Highways of Kollam the Lord told Devi that 'a person who visits Kollam will desert his lliam.'
